In 2015, Poetic License was born. A chance encounter with someone who has been distilling on his Mum’s hob since he was 14 left our founder Mark Hird with a fire in his belly and a taste for gin. Mark and the distiller travelled to Scotland at the end of 2014 to complete a distilling course, which they failed on their first attempt (this might have been something to do with the alcohol consumption on the evenings); however second time around they did pass, and came out raring to start a craft distillery.

Five years on from this, and we stand here having won numerous awards and with well over Three hundred thousand bottles leaving through the front door. We felt it was time to acknowledge what we’ve done to get here, and in memory of Mark, we wanted to create three truly unique expressions of Gin. After all, we believe in breaking traditions and being bold.
